This is a new Grade A manufacturing and logistics facility in Brooklands, Weybridge. The development has three floors of office space. The first floor glazing overlooks the ground floor, and this has to provide 60 minutes fire integrity and insulation.

Project Analysis

EI60 Fire Resisting Glazed Lights

The fire resisting glazing fitted to the first floor had a requirement to provide EI 60 (integrity and insulation). One of the fixed lights is over four metres long, and the architect and client wanted as much glass as possible with minimum framing.

Products used for this project

Aluprof MB 78 EI glazed fixed lights in a powder coated anthracite finish, are glazed with 35mm thick Polflam glass. To achieve the required aesthetics, the glass does not have mullions between the panes, but are glazed with fire resisting silicone butt joints in the vertical plane.
